Real Books of June

Sorry I’ve been absent from the blog a bit! I know I haven’t commented back to everyone–I’ve been spending my birthday weekend out of town with my bestie:) BUT I’ll hopefully be back on track by Wednesday!

Seeing as it’s the start of a new month, the time has come to review all the physical books I’ve read the last month toward the 2014 Real Book Challenge. You can still join up at any time! Prizes are awarded to one participant at the end of each month and at the end of the year there’s a GRAND PRIZE GIVEAWAY! Every real book you read is another entry into each monthly drawing, as well as the Grand Prize drawing at the end of the year.

So really, there’s no losing in this Challenge–the more real books you read, the more entries you get toward winning more real books!

Check out my real reads last month!

Real Books of May

*Dumbledore voice*

Another month, gone!

Aaaaand the time has come to tally all those real books I read in the month of May! Not my best month to date, BUT I did pretty well considering how I’ve done most other months;)

Ch-ch-check ’em out!

Altered Supernaturally Endlessly Sweet Peril The Distance Between Us The Statistical Probability Hemlock Stolen Forbidden A Darkness Strange and Lovely

Ten beautiful and all around FANTASTIC physical reads for May! I read 19 books total, and over half of them were real books! I did start three books before my trip to Idaho that I have yet to finish, buuuut those will tally up for next month;)

current status: 41/100

There’s always time to join up if you haven’t already! There are prizes given away every month and one Grand Prize at the end of the year! Don’t be shy now, just head on over to Swoony Boys Podcast and Fiction Fare and get yourself all ready to go!;)

Real Books of April

So here we are once again–it’s time to count up all the real books for the month! April was a lot better than March as far as reading goes, but sadly I let the blog slip on my priorities list. Somehow I’ll figure out how to balance blogging and reading and work, I swear . . . Have you ever gotten on a MAJOR reading binge where you selfishly read all the books you want to and keep yourself in your own, very personal book bubble? Because that’s where I’ve been for almost half of the last month. Which was pretty selfish, I’ll admit. Sorry about that, I’ll try not to keep you all in the dark from now on;)

Whoa off topic much, Danica?

So. BOOKS. I can’t even tell you how many books total I read this month! Actually, I lied–the number is 18. BUT out of those, only 4 were physical copies (my kindle and I LOVE EACH OTHER, okay). Lets take a peek at what those 4 lucky ones were, shall we?

These Broken Stars The Fiery Heart Hallowed Boundless

Honestly, I’m not sure if I’m ahead of schedule or behind, because GOODREADS IS DOWN RIGHT NOW and that’s how I track my progress. BUT I figure as long as I make it to 50 by the end of June, I’ll be right as rain:)

current status: 32/100

Head on over to Swoony Boys Podcast and Fiction Fare to join up if you haven’t already!

Real Books of March

Hosted by Swoony Boys Podcast and Fiction Fare!

Okay, soooo I fell off the real book wagon and was inundated with ebooks! So sadly this is going to be a very short post. Like, incredibly short. I read lots and lots of ebooks, though, so I’m not completely helpless . . . just as far as the challenge goes this month. I’m still a couple books ahead of schedule, so there’s still hope!;)

 Current status: 28/100

How are you guys doing on the real book front this month? What real books have you read?

Real Books of February

It’s already time for another recap! Today’s edition: FEBRUARY. So let’s see the real books I read last month towards the 2014 Real Book Challenge, courtesy of Swoony Boys Podcast and Fiction Fare! I I didn’t get to as many as I did last month, BUT I’m still just trucking along, riding the tide of these booklings:

15839976 Just One Day Pivot Point Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (1) Crossed Something Strange and Deadly Born of Illusion Prodigy The Elite Teardrop Just One Year

Looks like the magic number for the month is 11 beautiful, tangible books! I originally set a goal of 50 real books for the year, BUT I revised that to aim a little higher. Sooooo now I’m working toward 100 real books read in 2014! Add this month’s total to last month’s and I am at . . .

27 real books out of 100!

Just over a quarter of the way to my goal and starting off a [[hopefully]] strong March. This challenge is a BALL, if you haven’t joined up yet there’s plenty of time! There’s even a nifty [[clickonitCLICKonit]] Goodreads group set up for it! It makes it SUPER easy to keep track of all your progress:)

Come join the fun!

Happy Reading;)

As always, Happy Reading;)

2014 REAL BOOK CHALLENGE

I’m going to do a real quick sum up of this challenge: basically you set a goal of how many physical books you’re going to read in the coming year, and each book you finish earns you another entry into the monthly and grand prize giveaways!!! In a time where eBooks are dominating the market, it’s nice to have a reminder of where our love of reading all started–with words printed on paper and the weight of worlds within our hands and the smell of escape and the creak of a spine.

*sigh* I truly do love books.

And let me tell you something: I am BEYOND STOKED for this Challenge! HUGE thanks go out to everyone at Swoony Boys Podcast and Fiction Fare for putting this whole thing together. For full rules and details just click on the links above and they’ll lead you right on over to the official sites:)

Okay, so I’ve listed off more than 50 . . . we’ll see how many I can get through!

So how about it? Do you have what it takes to make a dedicated goal of setting aside your eReader and picking up some “real” books? The beauty of this challenge is that the number doesn’t matter, it could even be as simple as one book! But the more books you read, the more entries you’ll have each month to win cool prizes, and the more entries you’ll have for the grand prize at the end of the year! So let’s all band together as the bookish people we are and read some more “real” books this year!;)
